Privacy Policy

Last updated October 25, 2026

Letrero lets restaurants and shops show their menus on TV screens. This policy explains what information we collect through the Letrero website, dashboard and TV app, how we use it, and the choices you have. In short: we collect what we need to run your menu boards, we don't sell personal information, and the TV app doesn't collect anything about the people standing in front of the screen.

Who we are

Letrero ("we", "us") is operated by Letrero. You can reach us about privacy at support@letrero.tv.

Information we collect

Account information. When you create an account we receive your name, email address and, if you sign in with Google or another provider, the basic profile details it shares (such as your profile photo).

Your business content. The business names, locations, menus, items, prices, descriptions, schedules, promotions, logos and photos you add, and the settings for your screens.

Menu photos for import. If you use "Build from photos", the photos you choose are sent to an AI model to read the items and prices on them. We use the result to draft your menu.

Billing information. Subscriptions are handled by our payment providers. They collect your card details; we never see or store full card numbers. We receive your plan, subscription status, trial dates and billing history.

Screens and the TV app. When a TV is paired we store its display name, orientation, a private access token, and when it was last online. The app keeps that token on the TV so it stays paired. Like any website, our servers receive the device's IP address and browser details when it loads a menu. The app has no camera, microphone or location access and doesn't collect information about viewers.

Usage and device information. Our hosting and sign-in providers log technical details such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and timestamps, for security and to keep the service running.

How we use information

  • To provide the service: show your menus on your screens, keep them updated and let you manage your account.
  • To read menu photos you upload and draft menus from them.
  • To process subscriptions, free trials and payments.
  • To send service messages, such as sign-in codes, billing receipts and important changes.
  • To keep Letrero secure, prevent abuse (for example, limiting how many photos can be imported a day) and fix problems.
  • To meet legal obligations.

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for third-party advertising.

Who we share it with

We share information only with service providers that help us run Letrero, under agreements that limit how they use it:

  • Clerk for sign-in and account management, and Clerk Billing with Stripe for subscriptions and payments.
  • Convex for our database and file storage, and Vercel for hosting the website.
  • Vercel AI Gateway and the AI model providers it routes to (currently Google) to read menu photos you choose to import.
  • Cloudflare for our domain and DNS, and GitHub to distribute the TV app download.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of our users or others, or as part of a merger or sale of the business, in which case this policy will continue to apply to it.

Your menus are meant to be seen: anything you publish to a screen is shown publicly on that screen, and anyone with a screen's private link can view what it plays.

Cookies and local storage

We use cookies that are needed to keep you signed in. The site also saves a few preferences in your browser, such as light or dark mode, and the TV app saves its pairing so it reconnects after a restart. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and business content while your account is open. When you delete content, it's removed from the service, and when you ask us to close your account we delete your data within 30 days, except what we must keep for legal, tax or accounting reasons, or to resolve disputes. Backups and provider logs are removed on their normal schedules.

Your choices and rights

You can view and edit your business content in the dashboard at any time, and update your profile in your account settings. You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your personal information by emailing support@letrero.tv. Depending on where you live (for example, in California or the European Union), you may have additional rights, such as to object to or restrict certain uses. We won't treat you differently for exercising them.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, screens use private, revocable access tokens, and access to your business is limited to your account and the people you invite. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your sign-in details safe and tell us at support@letrero.tv if you think your account has been compromised.

Children

Letrero is a tool for businesses and isn't directed to children under 16. We don't knowingly collect their personal information; if you believe we have, contact us and we'll delete it.

International transfers

We and our providers process information in the United States and other countries. Where the law requires it, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this page when our practices change and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll tell you by email or in the dashboard before it takes effect.
